National Association
of Minority
Contractors is an
organization that
promotes the
economic development
of minority firms by
creating a forum for
information sharing
and development,
while advocating
positive
relationships
between minority
contractors and the
entities with which
they must work.

At a national level,
Kathy is a board
member and serves in
an advisory capacity
to the organization.
One of the National
Association of
Minority Contractors
most recent
accomplishments is
adding a chapter in
the state of
Mississippi whose
main goal is to
ensure local
minority contractors
hurt by the
hurricane Katrina
Disaster, are
included in the
rebuilding process.

At a local level,
Kathy has been
instrumental in
gaining recognition
of the National
Association of
Minority Contractors
and its member by
building
relationships with
city, county, state
and federal
governments. As a
result, the National
Association of
Minority Contractors
has developed a
reputation of trust
and integrity while
increasing business
opportunities for
its members and
helping to reshape
governmental
policies.

to present a unified
voice of women
business enterprises
throughout the state
of Minnesota’s
construction
industry. The
association provides
a forum for women
contractors to
utilize educational
and professional
resources while
networking with each
other.

President, Kathy
helped to build
strategic
partnerships between
the membership women
business
enterprises, with
other minority
contractors in the
state of Minnesota.
Many of these
successful
partnerships
continue today. She
also had the
privilege of giving
scholarships on
behalf of the AWC;
to deserving young
high school students
as they moved on to
further their
education in the
construction trade.
