For Immediate Release:
Local
Contractor Volunteers to Aid
Local Non Profit Organization
Minneapolis
– April 14, 2008 - Meyer
Contracting Inc. has volunteered
to lead a capital improvement
campaign for Bolder Options, a
Non Profit Organization
providing mentoring for at-risk
youth in the Twin Cities.
Bolder Options has seen
tremendous growth since former
Gopher and NFL great Darrell
Thompson took over as Executive
Director of the organization in
1995. The success of the
organization has reached local
and national acclaim including:
being recognized as a top
mentoring program by the White
House in 2005, voted “Best
Charity” by Minnesota Monthly
magazine and featured as one of
the top charities in the nation
by the Today Show in 2006.
In
order to support the continued
growth of the organization, the
facilities face critical
improvement needs. The current
headquarters is located in a
turn of the century Georgian
style mansion listed on the
national register of historic
buildings. The facility is in
need of: Architectural review
and specifications improvements,
asbestos abatement of mechanical
components, a roof replacement,
new plumbing infrastructure,
HVAC infrastructure for cooling,
and various interior/exterior
cosmetic improvements. The
organization has established a
capital improvement campaign,
and is seeking in kind donation
of labor and/or materials, cash
donations, or donations of
services at cost.
Meyer Contracting Inc., a Native
American female owned general
construction company based out
of the Twin Cities, has agreed
to help lead the campaign, as it
looks for participation from
various Twin Cities area
Architects and Contractors.
